Marlin 1894ss Ballard Rifling: .431" I feed it .433" boolits. It will chamber up to a .435" slug.

Not really - these aren't one off bbl's - I'm looking at maybe picking up a lever
and it would be nice if my moulds were at least close.
I can see the method of slugging give more variation than the bbl's themselves.

i have a 70's 1894 marlin that slugs .432, and a blackhawk 44 that slugs .430. but you need to check your's just to be sure.

I don't claim to have any real experience with this and am only repeating what I have read but the data listed above seems to support this. SAAMI specifies a larger bore/groove diameter for a 44mag rifle than it does for a 44mag revolver. Seems dumb to me since they're the same caliber but then again, nobody asked me before they made the rules.
