I drilled & bored out a lump of 210 dia. steel, to 190 dia. by 190 deep (CNC). Anyone guess the capacity of lead it will hold?? I intend to use this pot for casting ingots aswell dipper pouring bullets. Being relatively new to casting, i think this will be a good way to learn more before progressing to an electric bottom pour.
Any info thanks!!!

190 What ? how bout a decimal point someplace.

What are you hoping/trying to learn ?
Smelting and casting in the same pot is not always a good thing to do. Can it be done ?
yes, recommended ? not by me.

Fill it with your alloy and if you can get it out weigh it. No guessing Eh.

If your measurements are in mm. it would convert to 7.48 inches diameter and depth. Volume would be around 328 cubic inches. Someone else can probably calculate the weight for lead at this volume.

At 708#/ cubic foot, 328 cu.in. would weigh 134# or 61 kg.

328 X 6.55 oz to the cubic inch = 2148.4 oz divided by 16 oz to the pound, = 134.275 lbs.
Or in other words, One heck of a lot of milling.

No milling, CNC Drilling & Boring, put billet in close the door and about 25 mins later Yippee!
