I have the title gun in the box in 99.9% condition with 2 mags and no PPWK. For the heck of it, I went to the Beretta site and plugged in the S/N.

It came up as being made in 1988, which I believe to be the first year of production for this model.

How would I find the approximate value of this gun? Anyone here have a guess at the value.

It seems rare that a gun this old would be in such fine condition. I usually only see more collectable handguns preserved and tools like Berettas are shot (alot).

Thank you.

It looks like a Centurion to me. Did Beretta make a different compact 92?

The compact 'L' models are nice pistols. Not rare, but you don't see them everyday.
Recently there must have been a release of some NOS, several retailers had them in stock for a while this spring.
LNIB price will depend on how badly someone wants it, of course, but I think they were going for about $550 or so from the dealers.

The Type L's are nice little toys. I've got a .40 Cal. M96 that I purchased from a local police officer. It's quite snappy and shoots Lee 175 gr. tc boolits very well.

I've had this one for about 5 years. The only other one I've seen for sale up here was in 9mm.

Now that I think about it, I've seen more Type M's for sale than Type L's......( I'd like to see a Type M in .40 Cal.)

Mike.

It's definitely not a Centurion. I'm not in question about WHAT it is; just trying to place a value on it.

It must be pretty rare because I found very little info and no sale comparisons.

Production started around 88 and ended around 93 because it didn't sell well. Most that were sold were carried alot and thus show moderate wear.

The new ones are a limited run by Beretta for 2011.

As my piece is from 1988, I believe it is one of the earliest and is in pristine condition especially for a gun that was never meant to be preserved.

There were none from the original issue on GB. Current or past auctions.

I think it must be worth alot or nothing. It's not for sale; I'm just curious as to why it seems to be such a mystery since it comes from such a prolific company.
