GC 170gr LFN bullets, are these available or am I just wishing for the moon? I would like to load some Leverevolution powder and this bullet to see where it goes. I have a 1949 Marlin 336 .32 Winchester Special rife in immaculate shape and think I can use it for more than deer. The Hornady 32 Win Special rounds average 2370fps in my 20" barrel. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Couple years ago I had 3 Marlin's in 32 Special .

I used 3 molds in them , the RCBS 32-170GC , the Ranch Dog 323-170GC and the Lyman 321297 !

All shot nicely for me with 21 or 22 grains of XMP5744 .

Shot quite a lot of the RD bullets at metalic silhouettes !

My friend, the .32 Spl is a fine old caliber and I enjoyed shooting it in a nice Win 94 for years. It is, however, ballistic wise, the same as the .30-30. You cannot expect any greater power from it than that of the other. The twist in the bore if I remember right is 1:16"?? That will give you some wiggle room in casting I hope. Have fun with your old Marlin. Glad you have such a fine weapon.

Go see Ranch Dog.I shot his bullets from my Model 64 Winchester made in 1933.With a Lyman peep at 50yds with full power loads it will group just under 1 inch. That is with the first load I tried. The RD bullets cast from Lyman #2 shoot better than the Leverevolution bullets with the same load.

Slug the bore FIRST...fit to size.

Some older guns have BIG diameter...my 1893 Marlin is .326"

ta-da!!!! http://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_...=32-170A-D.png

Accurate Molds are niiiiiiiiicccce!!!

But, if you kept it around 2,000fps I believe you'll have better luck. Deer won't know the difference, less wear on the gun and YOU, and less frustration is always good for the ticker too. Have fun.

If you need to go bigger than deer size critters, might get a heavier hitter. IMHO of course
