I found out today, that you shouldn't plug in the heater plate on your Lyman 45, shine a light bulb on it, and then go to the store for an hour, when the temp. is 65 deg. outside. It took a few minutes to clean up the melted lube, but I reused most of it. I guess I'm still in winter mode. I did get to play with boolits though!

Dont know the exact working temp of your lube but buy acordingly and you're done.

Lyman heaters get way too hot. Mine is connected to a wood router speed control. I found mine on Amazon.com. It works like magic on the #5 (50%) setting with my Lyman 4500 and Carnuba Red.

Also, never forget to back off the lube pressure if you are not right there with it. It will weasle out and make a mess.

Have been using a thrift store hair dryer for many years, followed by a small light bulb in a direct lamp on the sizer once the lube is soft enough. Cheap but effective, and fast.
