I am wondering if anyone can recommend a good HP mould for the 45 ACP, thinking something in the 220gr-230gr? Right now I am casting a 200gr SWC from a 6 cavity Lee mould.

i just swage my own using bullets cast from a RCBS 45-225 mold using the CH-4D 101-451-HP swageing dies and my RCBS RockChucker. they shoot and expand real well.

Check out the active GB section. There is a gb running for a Mihec 4-cav 200gr HP mold (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=114718).

Mihec is the only production way to go, or the Lyman Dev, but it comes in right @ 200gr from 50/50 ww/lead alloy. The other way to go is by a mold you like & have Erik @ HPMS HP it for you. This one is the Lyman #452374 w/ a 5 sided HP. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v703/fredj338/45-215gr.jpg

How about this?

I find that I get almost exactly half the penetration in wet newsprint or phone books that
is reported in calibrated ballistic gel.

I like them all. I will be doing my homework, this purchase will be down the road a bit, have to get caught up with the last few purchases first.

Your boolit is very, very similar in deed.

Slight Differences-

The BRP 453640 has a:
-Longer overall length @ .672; The bottom is the same just the nose is a bit longer
-Larger HP diameter: .260
-Larger as cast diameter: .453-.454

How is the boolit working out on your end?

I was mainly refering to the mold itself
