Guys,

Anyone have much experience with a Sig P238? I have handled one and it seems
like the Colt Mustang made by the Swiss (which is exactly what it is, astonishingly
enough :-) )

In any case, any feedback on reliablity, accy, issues of any kind, plus REAL WORLD
prices would be appreciated.

I have fired a few rounds though one that a guy at my club had and watched him put about 200 rounds of assorted factory ammo including hard ball and hollow points. The pistol shot more than acceptably for a small pistol like that and it was reliable as I did not notice a single malfunction while it was in use. This is very skimpy info I know but I liked the pistol but doubt if I will buy one as they are quite costly for a pocket pistol especially when I already have a Bursa that cost about 1/3 the price and shoots as well and does not jam either.

Sig 238 pistols. My wife and I carry the 238 everyday and would use them to get back to the vehicle for the heavier armament. She uses the rainbow finish with night sights:

I use the less fancy one with standard sights. The pocket holster has a place for another magazine (Colt Mustang mags fit... my extra mag is a Colt)

I reload for the 380 and we shoot them at least once a month. Have not had a single malfunction and the pistols are as accurate as you can hold them...

Carry ammo is either the Federal Hydrashock or Speer Gold Dot. One of the best things about the gun is the safety does not lock the slide. That allows you to load and unload the pistol with the safety on.

We had tried both the Kel-tec 3AT and the Ruger LCP. We have been much happier with the Sig due to its safety, accuracy and dependability.

Thank you, sir. Excellent report. Sound like I need to get SWMBO one of those little bangers.

And - Go Navy! Other than my no-good self, nearly all my family are Navy or
Marine veterans.

Let me start by saying, I'm not that fond of .380, and I'm not that fond of pocket pistols.

But I have a P238 that came to me in trade. I was thinking of selling it to pay for other guns, but after shooting it, there may be some difficulty in talking myself out of it...

The one I have is the equinox, it has a fancy fiber-optic front sight with tritium inserts, so it has high visibility sights day and night.

At the indoor range, where the lighting was so bad that the night sights did more than the fiber optic, I put the 50 rounds I brought with me into about 2.5" at 10 yards. I was duly impressed.

Thus my conundrum in whether to sell the pistol or keep it. I seem to have had a recent glut on pocket pistols, and I have little use for them, but this may end up being one I decide to hang onto.
