Just started loading for my .40 cal S&W Sigma. Started at 3.4 gr of WST and an 180 gr. TC bul, oops boolit. Couldn't exactly find data for an 180 lead boolit but used an 180 gr. FMJ load minus .5 gr. Not the greatset accuracy but speeds over a chrono in the 1020-1050 fps range. Also crono'd a 3.2 gr load woth not really any accuracy change. Target was at 25 yds. I think I'm a bit long and just readjusted the dies for a 1.135 col. Haven't tested this load but will be doing so soon. Am I on the right track? How 'bout sonme feedback?

JB, Welcome to the site. Sounds like your off to a good start to me. It will take some experimenting to find the best load for your gun but that's half the fun. FB

I'm moving my target to 15 yds when I test the next two batches. I'd like to drop the speed to around 900 to 950 with the best accuracy/groupings. Basically just getting to know the pistol and load. And yes it's been fun. Firebricker, do you do any sporting clays shooting?

I have had good results with Winchester 540 and Accurate Arms # 5 powders. I use 180g RNFP lead bullets. I load them to run 850 FPS. They shoot really well out of my Glock 22.

Didn't get to the club today, raining. Maybe this week. Want to try the tweaked loads.
