Been looking for months for a Marlin 1894 in .38/.357 Mag.
Went to the new Cabelas that just opened here and they had one!
The wife is a happy camper now! She finally got her rifle.
New Lyman 358665 4 cav. On the way.
Should be a sweet cast gun!

Cool!:guntootsmiley:

She should love it. I haven't been a big fan of the .357 for a long time but it had a certain appeal when mated to a short, light and handy carbine.

Now I have one (a Rossi) and have been enjoying the combination a lot. My oldest daughter tried it out a few weekends ago and liked it a lot. She was grinning ear to ear from the first shot to the last.

Your wife and you are going to really like that little Marlin. I bought one a couple of years ago and feed it the Lee 158 RNFP in 38 special case. Use that for a plinking boolit.
For a hunting boolit I use the Lyman 358156 in a hollow point at about 1700fps loaded in 357 case. Got a ground hog yesterday with that load. It was not a pretty sight.......Terry

Nice rifle. I recently bought a Winok 92 in 32-20 and have more than once secretly wished I'd bought in 357 while gearing up. Choices, choices, choices and lots of them on the shelf already.

I have both a 357 and a 32-20. Plan on keeping both but would sell the 357 if push came to shove. 357 is still a great little rifle. My Marlin 94CL in 32-20 is a great little gun and she will be pleased with the 357. I load my rifle so that it gives more punch than a pistol, about 1500 with a 158 lead bullet and it is really pleasant to shoot. 38 specials are about like shooting a 22.
