I'm having trouble with some pb gas checks that I bought off the internet. They are .008 aluminum. If I try to run they through a lee .358 sized nose first the check rips apart. If I try running it base first it's hard to get it square to the world. Takes a lot of force to push it through either way. Any ideas?
Thanks

the first thing to try (if you haven't already) is to chamfer the entrance of your Lee sizing die.
I'd had a few of those that needed that.

I run mine base first. What I have done is taken a standard top punch, for a lyman or RCBS lubrisizer, and made a pusher that it goes into and also turned the top punch down so it is the same diameter all the way down. I now put the bullet nose down on the top punch, and up it goes, completely through the sizer.
I also polished and chamfered the mouth of the sizer.. it helped quite a bit.
It is really difficult to push a round nose through base first..and have everything aligned right..
Drop me a PM, what press do you have and, how long would you like your pusher to be. If you have different nose profiles, I can most likely make one for each. Or, I can make one that you can use with a nose punch. I am thinking about some additional modifications, such as threading the nose punch stem.. that way it will be able to screw into the pusher..

Use Lee Liquid Alox and get plenty on the check.
