Does anyone know how old this box of dies are?

Well, the year of manufactor is usually stamped on top of each die.

There's no telling what someone may consider a "collectible" but old reloading tools really aren't in high demand, especially old stuff that's made exactly the same as new stuff.

I was wondering if the older the better was true with these. No date on the top of die.

They were made prior to the introduction of Zip Codes...mid 60s? -- as the address doesn't have one.

I'll cast a vote for the late 50's

RCBS used a letter code for the year of manufacture for the first few years they were building dies. It was a single letter such as "F". I don't know when it started or stopped with the shift to a 2 digit year number.

Guesser, Thanks for that information. These have the letter "I" but I guess it doesn't matter when they were made. Since there made exactly the same as new dies. These are unused.

I have a set of 7.65 Belgian Mauser dies in the same style of box. The older gentleman that I got them from in the 1980's told me that he bought them in the early 60's.

Mine do not have any date on them either.

I remember zip codes were being used in 1963.

RCBS did change some thread pitches on some of the seating plugs over the years. I have a 257 Roberts seating die that is 30 years older than the 25-06 seating die and the threads on the stem are courser on the older die. A few changes have been made over the years.
