Got this as part of a box of old molds and old Ideal hand tools. I have no idea what it is. The right hand side has a threaded bolt. It is about 7 inches long x 1/2 inch diameter.

Many thanks in advance....

Any signs of mercury inside the bottom part? Mercury filled recoil reducers were
popular many moons ago. Be careful not to spill it if it might be filled with mercury, which
is fairly toxic stuff. Shake it before you unscrew the end. If you feel a really heavy
liquid sloshing . . . . . . . . . , I'd NOT open it up.

Might.....and I mean MIGHT.......be part of one of the old Hensley and Gibbs reloading tools, but that's a real WAG. I have one somewhere in my stash of stuff, but it'll take me several days to locate.

Can't you guys recognize a lube groove containment device when you see one???

I bet you guys don't even know which way it is supposed to point when mounted on an Asperly Aimless.

Don't you recognize the slider from a triple beam powder balance for weighing the charges to be used in artillery?

Actually, it is not a flux capacitor but rather the mounting bracket for a flux capacitor. Anyone, who as I have, that has owned a Delorean would recognize it right off.

Obviously a bunch of totally inexperienced individuals on this site.

It is the cover for a anti-oscillating defribulationer rod.
If I recall correctly, not many sold so they are very rare but not as rare as the rods because they were very prone to breaking.

It is a clampon.. not to be confused with a ... well you know.. but it is for putting your money in while hunting.. kind of like those money belts.. if someone wants to rob you, you just say okay, but you will need to take it out of the clampon hole.. I will hold the rifle so you can use both hands.. so you can unscrew the plug..
They are installed so that the plug and muzzle are even..
It does kind of resemble a Hoodas. It is like an Entabulator but for rifles though..
