38-55 H&R Classic Target BPCR

I have one of those rifles on the way to me right now. Does anybody know the twist rate? Bore Diameter? Length of Cartridge Case to fit the Chamber....

All these questions will be answered as soon as I can lay my paws on the rifle. A cerrosafe chamber and bore cast will be made.....etc....

But in the meantime does anybody have one of these critters?

twist is 1 in 18 mine has a bore of .380. there are two diff. cases that will work in mine starline brass has it. i have some of the short brass but im going to the longer brass as soon as i get my new . and buy the way they shoot great with black powder are smokeless

Mine has a .380 groove diameter and will chamber the longer 2.125" cases. With the open sights it will shoot 1 1/2"-2" 5 shot groups @ 100 yds.

Greg have you touched the chamber? I hear a lot of these need to have the chamber out to .400?

my chamber was opened up to .400

Some of the last produced ones, from what I read on Greybeard, have bores closer to .378". You will just have to slug it and see when it comes in.
