I just got a great deal on a 3 lb can of Wap, been told that silouette data is interchangeable with this, is this true? and has anyone ever developed a .38 spec load with a 200 gr boolit with this powder. I tried the search and came up with squat on this combo. Thanks in advance for any input.

I did some research and heres what i came up with! I also found no data for WAP in the 38 special & 200 gr lead bullets. i have used it alot in 9mm & 38 super with excellent results ! and still have a few pounds left .
lOADS FROM THE 25 EDTION HODGEN DATA MANUAL dated 1986
38 SPECIAL, 200 GR LEAD BULLET @ STANDARD PRESSURE , REDUCE 10% FOR START LOADS
@ 16,000 CUP MAX
H4227--8.5 GR @ 819 FPS
HS6-----5.0 gr @ 794 fps
TRAP 100- 2.8 gr @ 688 fps
HP-38-- 3.2 @ 681 fps

HS6 IS A LITTLE SLOWER BURNING POWDER THAN WAP IN THE 9MM & 38 SUPER ! IN MY EXPERINCE ! I HAVE USED BOTH POWDERS EXTENSLIVEY FOR THEM.
IMO you might be able to start at 4.0 gr of WAP ? but dont go over 4.5 gr !!! for std pressure loads. PLEASE USE DATA AT YOUR OWN RISK

For referance a jacketed 180 gr bullet at +p pressure @21,000 cup 6.7gr of HS6 @ 870 fps
hope this is some help ! Bob
