Among other items, I recently acquired a 2 cavity Lyman 452488 mold. It is in good shape. It had some light surface rust on the outside, but the previous owner kept the last pour in the mold, so the cavities are good.

I understand that this is a discontinued mold, but is similar to an H&G mold.

Anyway, I might sell it and was wondering what it was worth. If you guys don't know, I suspect no one will. Thanks!

I just bought a two cavity 452488 mould and I paid less than $25.00 for it on eBay. That doesn't mean that's what your mould is worth, as the one I bought also had considerable rust on it (but not in the cavities). If you're going to sell it, I would recommend getting some Evapo-rust. Soak the mould in it overnight, and it should look 100% better than it does now. That's where the one I just bought is, soaking overnight!

I'm not positive, but it sure looks like an H&G #130 to me. The only difference is the H&G is a 185gr & the Lyman is 195gr but that might only be the difference between the alloy each company used.

MikeS is right about alloy difference. The H&g #130 is listed in my 1988 H&G flyer as 185 grains in lino, in Lyman #2 alloy it will probably weigh 190/195 grains.

40 to 50 bucks on E-bay, maybe a bit less if it shows rust or signs of heavy use.
