Just back from the range with my ParaOrdnance .40. Some of my reloads would not chamber...about 10 or so rounds. They hung up well before a "Glock Bulge" would have caused the issue. There's a 50/50 chance this brass had been previously fired through a Glock.

I examined these rounds and could see no abnormalties with my naked eye. I got them to chamber with some force to the slide(probably not the best idea). I'm not 100% sure but, I think I ran these through my Lee Bulge Buster after loading. Prior to that, it would have been re-sized through an RCBS carbide die, and crimped through a Lee Factory Carbide Crimp die...

Again, I haven't been able to really look at anything yet. This is a new problem for me...

Had a little lead in the chamber. I think I had a batch of rounds that weren't flared sufficiently prior to loading, shaving the lead boolit ..causing some leading in the chamber.

Major DUHHH!!!

I had an XDM 3.8 .40 that had a very tight chamber compared to my S&W M&P .40C.

The S&W would eat up just about anything yum yum. As it turned out, The XDM had to have very clean ammo, no messy sloppy alox coated bullets or it would start to have problems like yours in short order. I polished the chamber a little bit, but not wanting to degrade the accuracy any, my only real solution was to clean each and every loaded cartridge of any trace of lube.

Just a possibility, but I had a real issue with my .45acp before I finally found the problem by taking out the barrel and dropping rounds which worked flawlessly and the problem rounds into the chamber.

The problem was a ring of lead at the case mouth which jammed the round before the slide could go to battery.

Remove the lead and no problem!

A Glop bulge big enough to cause a problem should be clearly visable.

Keep em coming!

Just confirmed, after cleaning chamber, no more issues.

You may also want to seat your ammo a tad longer.. I have a Para P16 that likes certain bullets as long as 1.25" and others (180 truncated cone, 200 truncated cone) to 1.190". They will not fit into any standard chambered 40 (Sig, Glock, etc) but fit just fine in the P16 and in my S&W 610.
