Here's one for you cowboy boot wearers. I have a well worn pair of Tony Lama Teju Lizard skin boots that have finally cracked on the ouside of the right boot at the ball. the folks at Tony's said that they recommend a guy at New Life Boot Rebuilders out of OK. Have any of you ever used this outfit or seen their work? The guy I sopke with there is saying he can use a feather technique to repair the tear, add new soles and heels, re-dye and re-clear coat/seal the boots and reline the bottoms inside for $180. Given that new Lizard boots would run at least $400 from Tony and that other than that tear, the boots have lots of life left in them, I'm thinking that the price isn't too bad. These boots really fit well. However, I was hoping soemone could verify that they do good work. Any takers?

Not a lot to say about themselves, but they are factory authorized.

If Llama is recommending them, I would imagine they do good work. You might check to see if you have any local cobblers. We have some good ones in our area.
If you want to do it "the cowboy way", wrap some duct tape around them , and go on about your business!

Sew on a patch from the scrap drawer and tar it over to prevent leaks. No real cowboy cares how much lizard shows anyway.

For near 50% of the cost of new, how long do you think the repair will last? 50% the previous life of the boots? I just don't see a repair lasting at the highest flex area of the leather.
