Well I'm sure as time goes by virtually all the states that have recycling yards will hike there price on lead up. Kind of a kraptacular thought but anyone rolling there own will get into that mind-set of get it now while you can (at an affordable price) type of thing.

our local yard here pays .20cents per pund of clean lead. but they wont sell any lead at all. but its good to know that the local stores that take to them only get .20 or less for wheel weights per pound. ill save their gas and back and gladly pay that to them

I just paid .60 a lb for 522 pounds of x ray lead sheet. We got 150 lbs ww for .55 per lb. The guy let me sort thru and pick out the lead ones too. Only scrap yard I have found around my area that will even sell lead to individuals. Hate to pay, but guess pretty much all the free stuff is drying up.

Scrap yards around here won't sell any. They're buying, not selling. One day the guy says, if you want like 2 tons, maybe. Well, excuse me!!! Mike

Scrap yards paying .60 cents for WW, clean lead .80 cents, never have any to sell. I have be accumulating and take whatever I can get. Have large stash and will only become harder to get in the future as WW are starting to disappear here in Wisconsin.

My local scrap yard has WW's for $.55 per pound. Is that a good price?

You can typically buy lead here for about $1 per lb.
So, if you can get lead locally for less than that, buy it.
