I just purchased at yard sale a mod 70 223 sporter weight rifle. The stock has had about 3 inches cut off of it.I would like to replace it . the rifle says mod 70 SA but on the other side it says ranger. I see one synthetic stock listed for the ranger in Brownells. Does any one know if there is any difference between the post mod 70 short action . and the ranger. thanks.

This might help if you're interested in a Boyd's replacement stock for your Mod. 70. I buy a lot of stocks form Boyd's. They make a good product.

You can phone them at 605/996-5011 , they will answer any questions that you may have about restocking your Mod. 70, .223 Rem.
