Used my RCBS kinetic bullet puller on my first CB loads. After shearing off a few chunks of gas check, the thought of firing them over my chronograph gave me pause. Dumped the W748 outside into the rain.

Bright side, my RCBS Uniflow stand came in. Able to assemble it without instructions, will wonders ever cease?

dont see how any load would shear off chuncks of gas checks.

well seeing that you used ww748 tells me that your reloading for a rifle.when loading for bottleneck cases you need to expand and flair the neck so that it wont shear the boolit as its being seated.most here use the lyman M cast boolit expanding die for this.

Lots of moving parts. After one run through, its about time for a rematch. The second time through should be a charm.

I was throwing 20 grains of W748, God help me, but it looks tiny, compared to the 57mm case.

There was no reason to waste the powder from the pulled rounds, as long as you loaded it in the first place and knew for sure what powder it was. You can reuse the powder from pulled bullets just fine in that case. Winchester 748 is a great powder, especially in .223 and .308.

Hope this helps.

Not worried over the W748. Loading density in the 57mm case seems a bit low, even though other powders appear to have comparable volume at that weight.

Ohland; you don't say what cartridge or bullet weight, just x57mm case. That being said YES 20 grs of Win 748 seems low for most any combination, don't know if you will make enough pressure to seal brass to the chamber. For an example only 8x57 with 250 grain cast bullet(midsouth Maximum) 30.0 grains of Win 748 yeilds 1580 fps, burns dirty/soots brass black to the web, 35.0 grs cleans it up.
