View Full Version : Help with Lyman furnace......

I put out a call for used casting equipment as I wanted to start casting bullets for my 45-70. A fellow from this site sent me a used Lyman furnace, but he couldn't find any parts that go with it.

Here is where the power is attached. Does this unit use a simple two wire plug without a ground?

Anyone have a picture of the mecanism for the bottom pour. Is it simply a metal plug that blocks this hole with a handle for lifting it?

Here is the one I started with in 1970, a bit worse for wear! It still works but I haven't used it in years. Anyway you can see how it's set up.

Looks to be in great shape other than the rust in the bucket (which is easily fixed). I would use some all-thread rod to make the rear supports and go from there.
