My friend dropped another question on me about loading for his Glock. Is it safe to load and shoot Ranier copper plated lead slugs thru his Glock M 35 in .40 S&W? I`m beginning to think I should have a Glock, so I can answer his questions.Robert

I've used Raniers by the thousands through my 40s (SIG,Glock, S&W). Just bear in mind that under that thin copper plating is VERY soft lead. I keep my loads BELOW maximum when I'm loading raniers (OR Berrys) for my 40s. At medium velocities thay function perfectly and are quite accurate.

I have used Berry's, Raniers, and now have moved on to Xtreme plated bullets for my Glocks. .40S&W and .45 ACP. I visited all of their booths at the SHOT Show and found out they are all using .008 of plating per side on their bullets. This would make them all essentially identical.

They all function reliabily with 5.0gr of W231 in both calibers.

They all are priced just about the same except for one small detail.

Xtreme includes the shipping in it's prices. So I have switched to them exclusively.

$67/500 for 230gr .45ACPs.
