Bought this at a gunshow in Indianapolis a while back. It had late magna grips. I stuck these old wore out panels on it.

In the light of the gunshow I couldn't see the amount of blue wear but I bought it as a holster gun anyway. Lock up and bore is very nice.

Under the grips is a nice collection of factory work dates.

And yet another factory re-work indication.

J.P.D. and a date of 1933. These are engraved not stamped. I suspect it may be Joliet Police Dept (Illinois).

This thing has been reblued more than a couple times. I suspect the factory re-work dates are for re-blue. Mechanically the gun is much nicer than the outside would suggest. Currently the firing pin rivet needs to be peened as it came out one day at the range. I think I'll need to lathe-turn a punch and anvil to do that. Anybody have a photo of that tool?
