I was out perusing the local firearms vendors this afternoon looking to replace my wife's Ruger P-95, and came across an Anaconda. The price tag on it was $2200! I have one identical to it that I paid a little over $400 about 10-12 years ago. I asked about the price and was told that the value had gone up considerably since they had stopped making them. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this drastic jump in price.

Nothing like that. The thing is, they haven't made them since the 1990s I think. I typically see them for around $1000.

I'd love to find a nice 4" in .45 Colt, but they seem to be pretty rare.

Always someone out to push the envelope.
I have one I paid about $750 new for. $1M wouldn’t buy it from me but $2200 is out of line. Of course Colts are bringing foolishly high prices.
Fact is it wouldn’t take that kind of price to shake a bunch of Anacondas out of closets.

For $2,200 I could sell my Colt. Buy a brand new S&W 629 then a new FN Model 70 Sporter and have $500 left over for frills.

A local dealer had a clean Anaconda in the case last week for $800.00, it lasted about 2 hours.

I have a NIB Anaconda First Edition, was wondering what it was worth. Could the one you saw, have been a First edition?

I quit carrying my .44 hunting as it is too expensive to drag around. They are high thought...

I got my .45 Colt Anaconda with a 4 inch Barrel back in the early 1990's. I traded a 7x57mm unfired Mk-X bolt action for it. It was brand new and I have shot the daylights out of it. I used it as my carry piece when I worked in the Gunshp that ordered it for me from Accu-Sport.

It likes hot loads with both j-word bullets as well as a Lyman .45 GC 230 grain SWC over a stiff charge of AA#9. I find it very accurate in all practical situations and have dragged it all over the country side burning powder and sending lead down range.

It may not be as smooth as a S&W N-Frame, but it is just as accurate.

And, NO! It's not for sale!

I saw one about 6 months ago. 6" .45 Colt for $1,000.00. The guy behind the counter said the month before they had a 4" .45 Colt go for $1400.00.
Given that this is one of the highest places around, I'd say $2200 is a tad high.
