I have sizing die marked "318" and tried to use it for sizing down some .320 boolits. The first two took some pretty fair effort to run through my lubrisizer and were absolutely destroyed...lopsided, lead shaving, etc. Suddenly it occured to me that I'd had trouble with this die before and never checked it......

I cleaned the die and measured it with a small hole gage and it's .313! No WONDER it made such a mess. The die is plainly stamped ".318" and is probably an older Lyman product, but it stopped my project cold.

Does anyone make an actual .318 die? I have a Lachmiller sizer which takes the RCBS or Lyman dies also.

Shoot Buckshot a PM. I just had him make a .318" for my 4500. Excellent craftsmanship and a fair price.

I think Buckshot will open up your die to .318 and it won't cost you as much as having him make you a new one. I don't know this for sure but just send him a PM and find out.
