View Full Version : I picked up another Model 10

I found another Model 10 since I needed a warm weather carry gun. I snagged this little 10-5. It had a set of Pachmayr's on it but I put these old wooden grips on it.

I just picked up my 2nd model 10 a few days ago..It like my other one has the 4"heavy barrel.Both of them are 90 to 99%.Have not shot this one but the other is very accurate and both have extremly good triggers.

Where do you guys find these guns?? I go to 3-4 guns shows a year and the local shops weekly. Guns shows usually just have absolute junk for almost new prices. The local shops have good deals on used Glocks not S+W's.

Yessir, you'll LIKE that K-frame snubbie. I regretted the departure of a similar example (round butt version) almost as soon as I swapped it. I went a lot of years without one, then snagged a Model 19 x 2.5" about 2 years back. I would have been just as happy with a 2" Model 10 or a 3" Model 13. The K-frame round-butt short-tubes just fit my hands perfectly, add Pach Compacs or similar Hogue neoprenes and the fun doesn't end. I hit very well with this combination.

Probably the best S&W former police dept issue pistols were traded in when the dept went with the Glocks. Glock was supposed to have made about as much on resale of the trade ins as on the contract Glocks themselves.

I suspect my S&W 59 may have been a former police pistol, but it has no dept markings, so maybe not. No sign of any markings being removed and all is as original.
