Ideal No. 454 69

Cleaning and oiling my Dad's old molds. One is marked "Ideal 454 69". I cannot find it in any of my older Lyman books and since it is covered with lead (the way he stored all of his molds) I do not want to open it up as I will not be melting lead for several weeks. Any one know what this casts? I suspect 250 grain or so semi wad cutters but that is just a guess.

I don't find the 45469, but there was a 45468, which was a 180 grain hollow-based RN.

That's interesting. "Covered with lead" Could you post a pic of what you're talking about there? I'm curious. A pic of the cavity would also be cool.

In the 1897 Ideal catalog, there is a listing for the 454 69 as a round ball mold for "short range and gallery practice". HTH
