i have a very old 336 and cant find a hammer extension for it its a 1947 model according to the letter prefix but this thing is a shooter the one i find there is 2 different ones listed and have tried both help thanks big al

What are you looking for? The lack of punctuation made it had to understand what you want. I have a few hammer spurs in a box at my house if that is what you are looking for. I don't care for them and pull them off every gun I buy and dump them in a box.

Marlin hammers prior to about 1953 (when they started drilling, and tapping for scope mounts) were thinner, and can be hard to find an extension for. I have modified newer ones to work, and have found some that have fit. I think it was Uncle Mike's, or the original flat Marlin ones that I found to fit. Perhaps one for a Marlin 39A would work since those hammers are thinner too.

My dad bought a 336 off the hired man in the late 50's. Had a scope mounted in Bangor, Me. The gunsmith heated and bent the hammer spur sideways so it could be cocked. I have the rifle at home.
