Bullet Terminology ?

When looking at some molds in the GB Section I've seen some molds called FAT molds--what exactly is a FAT mold ? ( Please--keep the sarcasm to a minimum )

And, what is beagle-ing a mold ?

A fat boolit is generally one that is larger than normal diameter. Beagle-ing is one of several processes to make the mold cast a larger diameter boolit.

Beagling is the application of aluminum foil tape to the mould blocks so they no longer produce skinny boolits.

I think the term " FAT " when describing a mold is reference to that mold producing a boolit diameter that is something over what would be standard for the caliber.
I recall several group buys over the years for 30 cal designs that were called first the fat 30, then came the fatter 30, and finally the fattest 30. As you would guess each was progressively fatter than the previous.

Exactly right. Recently, I purchased a "Fattest 30" from a forum member, and it drops at .3175", perfect for my No. 4 Mk. 1* and Mk. 2.
