Who do you think makes the better GC and why? At my lgs Lyman checks run about $20 per k more than Hornady. I am getting ready to do some gc load developtment and just wanted to gather some opinions. By the way I'll be using a Lee 310gr mold for loads in a DW 744VH8.

I have heard (but I don't know) that Hornady makes both of them.

Hornadays are pretty good but I like Gators as well. I've heard that Lyman makes them all but there sure looks like a difference to me.

Use the Hornadays if you can't get Gators,/beagle

not to hijack this thread, but how about some elaboration on why the Gator's? I use Hornady since they are cheaper. They crimp on fine in my lee sizers, and I dont ever have any issues. What can anyone tell me that would make me switch or at least try Gator checks?

Cost! Gators are generally a lot cheaper.

Hornady makes Lymans gas checks, they just box them up and add some mark up. The Gators work just fine and price is right.

Best check is the one that fits.
Measure the shank vs GC id.

Gator has the best price.

Gators prices are lower and they crimp on like the Hornady checks. I have had no problems with Gator checks and highly recommend them.

My Hornady checks arrived today. $39 per 1k. I'd like to try a few of the Gators also if someone had a few to sell, I'd buy some just to compare. If there is a savings to be had I'd surely jump on it.

You are correct.
