WC852 Fast & Slow

I see Jeff Bartlett at www.gibrass.com as of yesterday is showing WC852 both fast and slow. Pulldown powder at $100 per 8 pounds. Have not seen WC852
surplus for some time...about 3 years?

That's too danged high, last I bought was 52.300/8lbs. For that kind of money I would buy canister powders now. .02

I do like the powder. Several of my best loads use one or the other.

I really like the WC852 slow in the 6.5 x 55. I'm glad now that I bought enough to last me at $56/8lb.

Wow, last 852 (slow) that I bought was $4.00/lb. Tells my age doesn't it.

My lot of WC852 is # 47287 and considered slow. The load data recommended by J. Bartlett is between IMR 4831 and H 450. It does not look like I will ever have a need for it (yet) but as a handloader of 44 different cartridges, I am sure it will come in handy someday. Purchased it back in 02.

..............I just picked up 16lbs of WC852 fast for use in the M1 Garand. Haven't begun working with it yet. I too love the WC852 slow. It's a super nice powder with no bad habits at all. Predictable performance in any useable application. I sure wish I'd been able to purchase more back when it was inexspensive! I hope the fast lot is as easy to get along with :-)
