Started casting and load development for this using the Lyman 375449 mould. Bullet sized .377, 272 grains. 40 grains of 3031=3" grp +3" high. 35 grains of 4198=1" grp +3" high. 48 grains of 4064=1 3/4" grp+4 1/2" high. Last load tried, 46 grains of 4895=1 1/2" grp +3" high. Should work nicely for silhouette shooting.

I always wanted a 375 Whelen. I have an FN Mauser commercial action that would be a fine candidate. I'll be following your results...with more than a little jealousy!

Blue Star likes RL-15.
Between 49 and 53 grains depending on twist rate, barrel length and hardness lube you are using and whether you want to use filler or not.

isn't that called a 375 hawk? or is that when you shove a 416 bullet in an 06 case?

The 375 Hawk/ Scovill is a different cartridge. The H/S has the shoulder blown forward with a shorter neck. I have both and since I shoot mostly heavy boolits (375gn) and I use the whole neck there is little gain in the H/S over the Whelen.
I prefer the standard long neck 375 Whelen.

I've got a 350 rem mag and that case just makes me daydream about a 375 or a 416 express that Ken Waters designed.
