Okay the title should have been 70/30.

For the maths wizards here.
I have a quantity of 4 lb 70/30 ww/lino ingots and thought to add 2 lb of Pb to each. What is the general concencus on antimont / tin percentages in this mix.
I thought to use it in the 1900fps range. I know it works ,just not the math on percentages.

Assuming that the lino was not depleted as it often is, and that your WW are typical of the ones we have here in the USA for the last 15 years or so, you would have:

44.8 oz WW at 3%Sb, .5% Sn, 96.5% Pb, approx. plus trace As and other stuff.
19.2 oz Lino at 12%Sb, 4%Sn, 84% Pb
32 oz Pb.

That's 96 oz @ 95.17% Pb, 3.80% Sb, and 1.03% Sn.

Thanks Gear. The mix should be a good one. I have quite a bit of 50/50 ww/lino given to me, and added enough ww to bring it down to 70/30 ww/lino Then I was given about 35lb of pure Pb and the mix I made will stretch it a bit and be quite usefull at rifle velocities.

Thanks again.

Here's some more info for your 70/30 alloy.
The 70/30 WW/Lino mix has properties of:
1.55% Tin, 5.70% Antimony, hardness @ 14-15

Add 4 lbs of 70/30 with 2 lbs of pure lead and you get:
1.03% Tin, 3.80% Antimony, hardness @ 12-13

Add 4 lbs of 70/30 with 4 lbs of pure lead and you get:
0.78% Tin, 2.85% Antimony, hardness @ 11-12

Add 4 lbs of 70/30 with 6 lbs of pure lead and you get:
0.62% Tin, 2.28% Antimony, hardness @ 10-11

If you want to use some of the other alloy you have there, here's some data for it.
That 50/50 WW/Lino has properties of:
2.25% Tin, 7.50% Antimony, hardness @ 16-17

Mix 4 lbs of 50/50 with 2 lbs of pure lead and you get:
1.50% Tin, 5.00% Antimony, hardness @ 13-14

Mix 4 lbs of 50/50 with 4 lbs of pure lead and you get:
1.13% Tin, 3.75% Antimony, hardness @ 12-13

Mix 4 lbs of 50/50 with 6 lbs of pure lead and you get:
0.90% Tin, 3.00% Antimony, hardness @ 11-12

Mix 4 lbs of 50/50 with 8 lbs of pure lead and you get:
0.75% Tin, 2.50% Antimony, hardness @ 11

Mix 4 lbs of 50/50 with 10 lbs of pure lead and you get:
0.64% Tin, 2.14% Antimony, hardness @ 10-11

No problem. I added a couple more recipes to my first post to stretch the tin a bit farther. I know you mentioned that you were looking for higher velocity loads, but I figured you might end up using it somewhere else later down the line anyway.

If pure lead was cheap, you could always mix 4 lbs 50ww/50lino with 10 pounds pure lead and then water quench or heat treat, should get you a very tough and malleable 18 bhn or so after a week. Great for rifles, especially for hunting.
