Ok, I am sure that this question has come up a zillion times, but a search has not come up with my particular scenario.

I am shooting a rem700 varmint .308 with 1:12 twist. Currently I reload 150 fmjbt over 31gr H4895 (my reduced load) @ about 1975 fps. My rifle also likes Winchester 7.62 white box with a 147 @ 2800 fps

I am cooking up some ingots of half WW and half linotype (actual lino, still has the words on it) and just want to push my bullets to a nice velocity without leading my new remmy

the mold is TL309-160-2R

Just looking for a suggested max velocity and a good load to maybe reach out to 300Y. I have H4895, IMR 4198, H380, & varget.

Thanks

Suggest you start at 28 gr H4895, put a 1/2 gr filler of dacron over the powder and work up in .5 gr increments. Better yet switch to a slower powder since you want "max velocity". Try RL19 or AA4350. Start at 41 gr with both, work up in .5 gr increments and don't use the dacron filler. With the similar C312-155-2R I can hold very good accuracy upwards of 2100 fps out of my 12" twist .308W. hard to get much above that because of the 2R nose.

Also suggest;

Fire formed cases
trued necks
Cases match prepped
Neck sizing to .002 - .003" tension
CCI 200 primers or Rem 9 1/2s
Make sure GCs are seated squarely on bullet base
Use a softer lube like Javelaina or Lar's 2500+
Size bullets .002 - .003" over groove diameter
