Today, in a historic move, the Ohio Senate over rode the Governor's veto to HB 347. This bill, which will become law in about 90 days, allows true concealed carry in automobiles anywhere in the State. It includes State Pre-emption (no municipality can pass a law that reduces the State covered mandate). Up until now, any small municipality could decide that concealed carry was not legal within that municipality. State law triumphs!!

It has been a long road to a proper concealed carry law. In about 90 days we shall have it!

That's easy. Avoid them and tell all your friends. No reason to do business with that sort. They don't want our business anyway. Besides, it might not be too healthy to hang around near there. Certain others will read signs like that as: "Please rob and shoot me because I'm a stupid drooling ignorant wimp and shouldn't live to reproduce." Sometimes it's better to just stand back and let the process of natural selection proceed as planned.

I have also seen the 'no firearms allowed' signs at times. They didn't last long when buisness fell off amid Ex-customers comments.

Ironic "no guns alllowed" sign, the first I have seen in Nevada, is at the entrance to the Boomtown casino, just over the line from California. Not only is there the no guns sign, but a cutesy liittle sticker saying "this is a gun-free zone." The irony is that I discovered the signs while trying to find out where the gun show that the casino allowed on their grounds was! Turned out the gun show was small, not very good, in a tent, and with people and tables jammed in like sardines in a can.

NVcurmudgeon---Would you expect much of a gun show where no guns are allowed?

Texas has a CCW law and I didn't get a permit. I did not want to be registered nor have to pay a tax for what should be my right. There are restrictions, places that sell drinks and not sure what others. I went to a casino here in Texas---(on Indian land ---to the victor goes the spoils, because they whupped us in war they can have casinos but non native Americans cant-another story). At the entrance they had a metal detector and determined I had a pocket knife and I wasn't allowed entrance with it. I might have whupped the whole tribe with it and got their casino closed down.

A lawyer freind from Texas, says she carries without a permit. According to her, should she have trouble over entering a restricted building, she has less liability than a licensee, as she can claim ignorance of the restrictions, while a CCW is supposed to know!

There are at least 2 citys that plan on sueing the state over the bill .
My guess it will take another year to see the law take efect

I believe the law will take effect on schedule. I also believe some LOSERS will file lawsuits to over turn it. Hopefully, reason will prevail. Cincinnati and Columbus have "Assault Rifle" laws that were overturned by the passage of HB 347. They and Cleveland are already crying (note that these three cities have the highest murder rates in the state...).

There is overwhelming evidence from many, many states that a good concealed carry law seriously reduces violent crime. We recently had three cases in Cincinnati where people responded to violence that ended up with three bad guys dead (two guns and one pick up truck was used against the bad guys). The Prosecutor carefully examined the evidence and returned the verdict of justifiable self defense. What in the world needs to happen before some of these wild eyed liberals wake up?

I noticed with some satisfaction that a home invasion in a near by town had the 19 year old woman victim grab a gun while her husband was struggling with the bad guys and shot the two bad guys multiple times with one dead and one in serious condition. Looks like the "weaker" sex may not be weaker, you think?

It costs 60 bucks in Washington to get a CCW if you pass the background check.
Still can't take a gun into a bar.
But still crims still can I guess.
