anyone ever used a heating element from a soldering iron and drill a hole and use that to heat lube?

It's been talked about, and a search will provide a number of threads and discussions about just such.

I've tried using a heat gun aimed at my 450, not sure if it did any good as I use LBT soft blue.

Crazy Mark invented/developed a little heater about 5 years ago and made me one that I've used ever since with good results. Works on the #450 and RCBS and I'm sure it would work on the #4500 and #45. Uses a heating element from McMaster-Carr (I believe) and an aluminum plate for the heater. Has a switch and a light to tell when it's on. Not thermostatically controlled but it heats lube up in my outside shed in the winter in about 15 minutes.

PM him and I'm sure he can furnish the plans. Parts are around $25 including the aluminum plate./beagle
