Reloading for the 45acp, which would work better? The Lyman 452460 or the Lee 90346 round nose? My initial thought would be the round nose or will either work? Thanks

AZ-JIM,
A lot depends on your gun and which one functons best. I shoot both and they work very well. I perfer the 452460 but that just me.

+1 on skeet1's comments. Most current production 1911s should feed the wonderfully
accurate 452460 just fine.

Well, I went to the range today and tried out both the Lyman 452460 and the Lee 90346 round nose. I had problems with the 452460 wanting to feed then I tried the 90346, no feed problems and excelent accuracy with 6.1g of SR 7625, 5 shot groups all touching at 12-13 yards.

Sounds like you answered your own question.

My first mold for the .45 ACP was Lyman's 452460, it has worked so well that I haven't been in the market for another. Yours might work if you play around with the seating depth.

During my life and experince with numerous 1911's some like one boolit better than another but then have some that will eat anything. I have only one that doesn't eat anything but then it isn't really broken in good yet. It is usually a feed ram problem and little polishing will cure it after has been broke in good and still having problems.

Jim, I gave a friend some of my Lyman 452423 sized .452 to try in his new Remington 1911 and he really liked them. This is Elmer Keith's bullet design for the .45 acp and auto rim cartridges. I like it with 9.0 of Unique in a .45 Colt Ruger revolver. Try some if you get a chance
