I have had .45 Auto rim cases ordered from Starline since January. I received a phone call and my order is shipping NOW. The rest of you good people who also have orders in should be receiving yours, also.

I might suggest that any who might be needing .45 Auto Rim cases should consider ordering now. They only run these cases periodically (once or twice a year, I understand) and NOW would be the time to get them quickly.

Thanks Dale!

I ordered 500 to feed my S&W 1937 (1917 built for Brazil) and Colt 1917 Army. I have
a new, unused Mihec 452423 clone in HP at .455 diam to match up the throats in both
pistols.

I have become a real fan of the .45 ACP/.45 Auto Rim revolvers. I have really given my two 625's a work out these past two or three years.

I have plenty of .45 ACP cases but only 600 Auto Rim cases (hence the recent order for 1000 new Starline cases). You could certainly make an argument for just using .45 ACP cases (especially since I have several thousand) but for certain uses I prefer the Auto Rim cases.

Frankly, I take full advantage of the versatility of the .45 ACP/Auto Rim revolvers. I use with .45 ACP cases and full moon clips (toting the Lee 230 gr TC conventionally lubed bullet) for rapid reloads, when called for. I use the Mihec clone of the H&G #68 flat base bullet for general use (both target and high velocity use). For self defense and varmint use, you cannot beat the Mihec 200 gr Hollow point bullet (from the Cramer style bullet mould).

For hunting use (I use Auto Rim cases, here) I load the NOE clone of the Lyman 454424 bullet - a 250 gr Keith at 900+ fps. This is probably the best field load to use in a .45 ACP revolver.

Here is the Mihec 200 gr hollow point in Starline Auto Rim cases:
