It ain't cheap, but Shiloh has started making an electric (220V) pot. If it's anything like their rifles, it will be top notch and well backed up with great customer service. It's just been listed on the Shiloh Sharps web store.

Appears to be ladle cast only and it is $425.00 to boot.

Who knows if the red paint will hold up to temps around 1000 deg f, or if the setup will deteriorate to a sort of Fukushima colour sceme?

I can buy 8 20lb Lee ladle only pots. This is the best product Lee makes.

I have used my first Lee 4-20 bottom leaker since 1994 and it is still in service as a pre melter on a top shelf above my newer Lee 4-20. I have to keep a pair of vice grips clamped onto the end of the valve rod but it does the job and I can run a pair of Lee 6 bangers without running out of alloy.

However I cheat. I have an assistant. He feeds the top pot and when the bottom pot gets to be only 1/4 full he opens the valve on the top pot and the molton alloy travels through a piece of iron channel stock into the bottom pot.

He also keeps me supplied with a cold beverage from time to time. Answers the phone and door to keep me focused on the task at hand and other assorted duties.

On my best day casting last year I went through enuf alloy to fill a bucket and a half full of cast boolits. We are talking about 7 1/2 gals of boolits. I made enuf of those .453 dia 200 gr LSWC and .359 dia 158 gr LSWC's to last me a few years.

I had to resort to storing cast boolits in plastic food containers and glass pickle jars under the trailer as the floor could not take the weight nor did I have enuf space inside. I tell you there are some strange critters living under my trailer.....that is virgin territory for me and will remain so.....it was created in 1964 when the trailer was placed there and the skirt added. I have never seen such cruddy and dried out rubber tires in my life.

I feel that my stash will be safe under the trailer and my crotch biting dog Sgt. Rambo will keep out intruders unless they are gay......I will not be talking further about that today...

THAT was so funny that I laughed hard enough to hurt my ribs. Then I quit laughing and I could not stop giggling to myself and my wife finally asked "What is wrong with you?"

I'm sure it's a nice melting pot but it would appear that they have little interest in selling many of 'em.

For that price I'd buy the RCBS Pro-Melt Furnace 110 Volt or the Lyman Mag-20 Electric Furnace 110 Volt.

You'd think somebody could build a 50lb one for about $399.95 shipped in the lower 48...

If the price of the Sharp`s pot made you swallow you chewing gum, take a look at what any OTHER pot except LEE drip-a-matics are listing for, you either will want to buy it or walk on past.Robert

You could get two excellent WAAGE pots for the price of one of the above Sharps. You'd think they'd at least put a fancy metal plate on the front with the Sharps logo, etc.

I bought two of these WAAGE K4757 pots for $125 each and two more for under $140 ( price has gone up this year though to about $160). You simply cannot buy a better ladle pot !

376: Notice fancy metal name plate and pretty red metal warning sign included in the price ! :) :)
