I thought some of you might find this interesting:

They are newly manufactured, not remanufactured.

Interesting to say the least. I wonder if there would be any SKS's imported? The opportunity to buy a NEW 91/30 or SKS would probably tempt quite a few people, myself included. I'd like to see real commercial quality in these guns.

I love the English translation for the SKS: "The bore is locked by warping the bolt..."

Edit: I just noticed that the KO-M91/30M has a chrome line bore..........shezzzaaamm!

I don't get the point of this at all. If you're going to build a modern replica of a historic gun, pick something where there AREN'T thousands upon thousands of mint originals floating around in the $120 price range.

If you're referring to the SKS, take a peek at Gunbroker. Jeez Louise!!

The Mosin Nagant on the other hand, would benefit from uniform bore sizes and current manufacturing techniques.

Both depend on price of course.

Does the scope mount just screw into the stock??

The Pioneer is purty, wonder how moa is?

Interesting, but I'd prefer a real "vintage" model 91/30. I am curious about the scope mount though.

I like this one

Nothing like a crossbow designed to shoot at pictures.

I kinda like these, even if the link off the main page is incorrect (hanter instead of hunter which gives a 404 error):

Are these for export? There is no info as to the why, where, *** etc. Any other info available?

You could probably contact one of the importers of the Vepr rifles..... They may help you get one....

Now... That AK style side mount scope mount is a big negative for me.... Those things are horrible/unstable beasts..... The mount alone also weighs an extra 3/4 lb...

The other thing you gotta ask is.... Is it actually a real new production rifle or is it just a Refurb.... maybe a new barrel on it..... maybe not.....

If you poke around - you can find a factory that still makes police/army sniper versions of the Mosin Nagant in Russia... and they don't look like that one.... They are more modern.

Thanks

I'll stick with my original Mosins ........ warts and all.

If I'm willing to spend the extra bucks for a reincarnated Mosin ........... why not get a modern rifle?

Give me a Savage bolt gun or good used American something!

Agreed. I fail to see the attraction of a Mosin that will cost as much as a clean used 700 or new Savage 12/112. You buy used surplus rifles because they are cheap, not because they have been winning design completion awards.

Next thing, you'll be going off at the opportunity to buy an exact replica of the sling David used to kill Goliath. I here the Israelis are in final development stages now. Comes with 5 small stones, just like the original.

Is it still April 1st?

Since these are made in Russia, I would expect that their main users would be Russians where 7.62x54R and 7.62x39 have more tradition and following.

We better get our civilian versions of that stone slinger layed in before the BATFE gets wind of it and includes it in the new foriegn assault ban they are working on!

And seriously, those new proposed rules could well lay waste to the new semi guns listed on the above link.

Do you WORK for these guys?
You've made this exact same post on virtually every firearms forum on the web.
Just wondering.

the MN's may have design flaws but in over 100 yrs. they have stood the test of time. When the sks came into the country in floods for $100 each or less thats when i got mine.
I myself don't like to bubbacize mil. surp. rifles they tell a story. Plenty of snipers available to see what it was like back then.

Maybe Josh is lined up to be the importer/distributor, and is just trying to help us out; those who want an sub-moa model.
Personally, I will hold out the the DST version...

They make MN in 9x54R? Am I reading this right?

Wow! put my quick and dirty 1944 Izzy furniture on it, add some "distressing" to give it that knockabout Red Army look while at the same time having a close tolerance modern machined action AND a chrome barrel? Easily could become my favourite MN!:kidding:

I like milsurps for the history. If buying something new it would not be either one of those. To many other designs I like better.

I would like to have both. Looks like the 91/30M has a free floated barrel. Would be nice to see if it shoots as well as finnish rifle. I am glad he made the post. I don't really shoot scoped rifles. Would like to have a M/N with a 2011 roll mark.
