Yeah, the classifieds are closed to non-members. That ad is some junk that is put up there by google. One of the downfalls of the software and servers I use. The ads are not seen by members. Membership is free, BTW.

I moved the post to the casting area so Yall can see it.

That thing way past cool! Talk about production. That would take a friggin bucket of lead for every pour.....Preheating might be a slight challenge too...... Who cares?!? It would be worth every hiccup just to see it work.

That's pretty cool. Wonder what bullet he made it for.

It says it it a 158 grain SWC. I would guess for 38/357. About 2.25 lbs per pour. 1000 bullets in 10 casts. Nice.

wonder how many cast's it takes to preheat the mould so you don't get wrinkles?

I don't care who you are. That's impressive on any scale if not for the casting just for the engineering skills it took.

I wonder how many tons the sprue weighs.

Theres allot of space on the "rack", I wonder if the mold sat over some sort of burner to get it up to temp.

It opened fine for me. How'd you like to have to lament that one?

Holy COW. That would take Felix's M.O.A.S. just to keep up the lead production! Two hours to preheat the mould and melt a half-ton or so of lead, three hours to cast it all up, that would yield about 54,000 boolits!

That is just way too cool. I gotta have one, or two. LETS MOVE THIS TO GROUP BUY DISCUSSION!!!!

Group buy as in about forty of us pitch in and buy the one in the pic, or group buy as in cause poor Al Nelson to have a stroke writing the CNC program? ........I wonder if one of those block and sprue sets would fit in a LFRB......? Nahhhhh. But it's nice to fantasize about having one of those set up on the coffee table when one's friends visit, no?

Pretty neat, but I gotta admit that is probably overkill for me! Looks like some good
thought went into it.

i bet it is (was) a better idea than how it really turned out or worked. a double row aluminum lee type mold would be great. middle fixed to the hinge, left and right open with handles, yea that's the ticket! lol.

as far as i know that is a virgin mold..(never been cast with)
the builder sadly went out of business back in the 80's but he made some crazy stuff! I have used some 8 cavity 45acp molds he made and i have to say i was impressed.
He made a bottom pour 60-80lb gas powered pot that you could have 1 to 4 pour spouts on it to instantly fill gang molds

Does that take Lee six cavity handles?

Where was the maker located? I think I may have visited with him by phone a few times. He had some wild ideas if this is the same person....Wes

that is a talented feller that made that. With way too much time on his hands.
