The rifle is a Win. 670 in .30-06 bolt.
The boolit is a .312 X 115 gr. RNFP, G/C.

Available powders on hand-
Bullseye
Unique
Red Dot
2400
WC820 (Equivalent of AA #9)

I'd like to find some data that will allow me to work up a cat sneeze load, I.E., very low velocity, hopefully 500 to 700 FPS. Any suggestions where to start?

I tried Red Dot , Unique, and Trail Boss in my 06s. I used the smallest Lee dipper in the set(yellow). Going from memory ? I believe the charge weights were close to 1.8-2 grs. I was using the soup can and a 93gr RN. Not very loud and at about 20yds were shooting to POA fo my scope. Rifles were Win 70(1948 mfg.) and a O3A3 sportirized. The scope and mount on the 03 has the adjustments on the mount. No turrets on the scope.

No signs of any problems. Just need to take more of them along next time.

I have a Rem700 in 06 that likes the following with an old Ideal 115gr RF

Bullseye 3.5
RedDot 5
Unique 7

I'd stay away from loading 2400 or #9 too low

3gr of Red dot and be sure to point the rifle up then at the target to settle that little bit of powder over the primer. Remember also that you are flirting with territory that could easily result in a stuck bullet. If for the kids, I'd rather have a bit more velocity and a bit less chance that they fire a 2nd round with one stuck half way down the pipe.
