Does anybody know how many times an encore frame can be opened and closed before the lock up is noticably looser? Mostly shoot low power ammo, so frame stretching won't enter in the equation. Hate to buy extra barrels to have the frame go south in a few years.

Just don't let it keep falling open hitting the stop! Use your other hand On the foregrip to let it open easy.

Nothing worse on a break open than that, especially the idiots that really pop them hard by lifting at the pistol grip hard as they hit the release.

As others have said, the encore is a strong durable gun if handled correctly. Do lube the pivot pin with a light coat of 30w oil to prevent galling on stainless frames/ pins. I have seen that once. WD40 is not a good lubricant
