In my Marlin I shoot 23 grs of Winchester 296 with a 240 gr JHP 1654 FPS. Needs magnum primers and is stout, but its not max.

In the S/W model 29 I like a 250g Kieth bullet over 20g of Alliant 2400. I haven't tried it yet, but it may be pretty good in the Remington 788 too.

Not recommending it without working up to it, but I have gone as high as 22 grains of 296/H110 with a 312gr.(my alloy) cast boolit.:)

My Lee 310 sized .430 with Lars Carnuba Red over 20Gr of H110 sparked with a CCI Large Pistol Magnum Primer seated to the deeper crimp will produce 1550 from my Rossi levergun. And it functions flawlessly.

I'd start with 18Gr of H110 and work up. I've gone to 21 in my rifle, but settled on 20. It's scary accurate too.

I use the Lyman 300gr bullet which drops out at 315gr using 9:1 ww to 50/50 bar solder. In my Ruger Redhawk I load this bullet sized to .430 ahead of 21.5Gr of S265 which is a South African powder equivalent to W296 or 2400 or IMR 4227. This is at the limit and should not be used in Colts or Smiths. I use 19.5gr for those or they lock up. Excellent accuracy and minimal leading. Hornady gas checks. I have shot a Cape Buffalo with this load and had good penetration as well.

yeah well since i'm up in Idaho at college i could only take a limited supply of reloading and casting stuff so i have maybe 1/4lb of Titegroup and 2400 but i did cast about 300 310 grain LRFT and about 200 240 grain LRN i figure the 240 with the lead round nose would be my "44 Special" load with 6.2 grain of tite group and not worry about the tube exploding and my 310 LRFT would be my go to/get used to shooting around 150-200 yards with it so i can knock some white tail on there butts when i get to Kentucky,
Any other suggestions?
