Folks, I need to draw on your cumulative wisdom please.

Can anyone recommend a multi-cavity mold (preferably a Lee 6-cavity) for use with the 30 carbine? I plan to load and shoot cast bullets in my Ruger 30 carbine Blackhawk. This is not intended for use in an M1 carbine. Un-checked designs are best, as I don't like fiddling with gas checks.

I know Lee sells 2 cavity molds for 309-120grains, but I prefer something that allows volume production. 2-cavities are pretty slow for anything more than 45-70 or round ball boolits, IMO.

I searched Midway and Midsouth and didn't find any 6-cavities that are suitable. I think there was a group buy 6-cavity 30 carbine mold here at one time, if anyone has one spare please let me know.

Thanks in advance :)

If you are willing to size them the 32 caliber handgun bullets work well. It is not a Lee, but I have had excellent service in 30 Carb in BH from the Lyman 311316. 115 gr. gaschecked and sized .310. The Lyman 310018, same design, plain base, would work also.

Guesser, thank you for that.

I was thinking of the following, and sizing them down:
Lee 6-Cavity Bullet Mold 311-93-1R 32-20 WCF, 32 S&W Long, 32 Colt (311 Diameter) 93 Grain 1 Ogive Radius. My only concern would be that 93 grains is is too light.

What about using 7.62x39 (123 grain) FMJ bullets, these have a nominal bore of 310 diam. I have about 900 of those spare. Would these need to be sized to 309 prior to shooting?

If you are willing to size them the 32 caliber handgun bullets work well.

Lee makes a gas checked 113 gr double cavity boolit mold that is similar to the 311316- the C309-113-F (90362). Not offered in 6 cavity, but it should be.

I use the 311316 sized 309, and is shoots very well in my rifle over a minimum charge of Lil'Gun.
I also have a 311359, that I had HP'd. I can get an HP or small flat meplat from it, and it shoots just as well as the 311316.

I don't like to go any heavier than 115 gr in my carbine rounds, just my preference, I guess.

I have 2 pistols and 2 carbs in 30 cal all of them are fun guns to just plink or hunt small game with, I have like 6 molds and load up 3 mainly a saeco 3c #254 115rn a lyman 311359gc for the rifles and 311240 92gr for pistol I had a lee 6c 311-93 that I casted about 1000 boolits and sold it on ebay the boolits came out of the mold right at .310-.311 and I size and lubed them down just fine I have yet to shoot any.

I really like the 92gr in both my pistols you should see what they do to a jack.

I use the Lee 93 gr. RN for 32 Long, I lapped it out so I can size .313. It drops 95 gr when using 50/50 WW/PB.

I vote for 3118 ( 311008) Been using it for 40 years.
The ONLY M1 Carbine mold I ever bought.

Yes, works breat in the carbine and also in the Ruger Blackhawk

I have 311359 and I have found 311316 to be extremely accurate, sub MOA at 100 yds out of a marlin 30-30.
