A week or so ago, I had reformed some Greek milsurp .30-06 brass to 6.5X55. For a fire forming load, I chose a 170 gr. Cruise Missile over 13 gr. of WC820.
I took the rifle and fire forming loads to the range today. At first, I was just shooting to be shooting as the purpose was just to fire form the brass. Just out of curiosity, I zeroed the scope to the target, which was 100 ft. away. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the load I had chosen was fairly accurate, considering that it was just a toss of the dart.
The photo below is a shot group of 24 rounds. Excluding the singles at 3:00, 5:30 and 10:30, the one ragged hole measures .530". 100 ft. is no big deal, but if this is the result of a dart toss fire forming load, me thinks this rifle is going to do very well.
