Not sure as to were to post this question.
I have a No 1 MK3 that tears the patch on the bullet when feeding from the magazine. Has anyone else had this problem and can it be fixed?

Have you tried using a different magazine? Perhaps the feed lips are not allowing the cartridge to release from the stack in the magazine, or perhaps the wrap isn`t tight enough at the front of the wrap.Robert

It seems as if it is one of the magazine lips cutting the patch as the cartridge feeds.

Take the magazine out of the rifle, fill er up with ammo and try stripping cartridges by hand so that you can see exactly where the problem is. You might have a small bur on the forward feed lips that can be carefully stoned off. Thats all I know. Mabe 303guy or docone31 could chime in, ill bet they know.

Thanks I will take a look at it and do as you said. Don't know why I did not think of that. Maybe old age is setting in?

I just ran into "sort of" the same problem, except my No.1 MKII* is scratching up my cases. A close look at the feed lips revealed some very sharp edges which I'm going to file and polish.

Hey, at the price of brass these days anything helps!

Stoning fixed the problem. Thanks
