Yesterday I picked up a Marlin Papoose (stainless version with the black polymer stock). I will get pics up laer. Anyone else ever own one of these. I am probably going to get a couple extra mags and keep it folded up in its case for the truck. A neat little gun, and better put together than the Charter Arms .22 that went into its own stock.

Good morning
I was at one of the 2 gun shops here in Arequipa (2 million +) and there was a NIB Papoose $400. Next to it was a select fire 9mm carbine with 2 20 rd mags.. $1000

I recenty came across one in a pawn shop, the price was to low (very rare around here) so now it lives with me.
with the sights on the barrel the loss of accuracy from being a takedown is minimal.
With small scope on the reciver I reason to distrust my zero but after three reassemblies and informal fireing sessions cannot complain about shifting zero.
The short forarm is tough to deal with for anyone who wants to use a sling for support.

It must have been around 1995 that I went to a pawn shop in Kentucky and got a Papoose for $40 plus tax. My oldest son was in first grade and always loved that rifle, it is his now. I rust blued the barrel and re-did the stock for him.

This is a very inexpensive gun but the accuracy that it delivers is outstanding! I did some of my most spectacular shots with it and have fond memories.

Reading up on the old threads, sorry for the late bump but just wanted to contribute a few pics of my Papoose scout rifle.
It is nice to be able to reassemble it and have no concerns whatsoever about change in POA/I.

I haven't had the time to see what ammo it likes, but so far I'm getting 1/2" groups @ 25 yds with Remington Thunderbolts (not exactly match ammo, lol).

I too have the SS and poly one. It is a neat gun and has counted for game in the past. I enjoy it.
