Lost my best friend

I lost my best friend Sunday night. My son ended his own life after fighting some demon of his own for some time. It isn`t supposed to be this way I have always been told, your children preceeding you in death. I am hurting terribly right now, my old Frau is hurting equally as bad. I can only hope my son has found his peace. Rest easy Dan.Robert

I am sorry to hear of you troubles, I buried my best friend on my 42nd birthday we were just days apart in age I can still see the look on his dad's and his uncle's face when that casket went into the ground. I had buried my wife in that same cemetery not 30 feet from my buddy. It was my birthday present that year to bury him, he died from health complications.
I still miss them both and many others that have died since.
I pray that you and your family find the peace you seek and that the Lord comforts you in your time of need.

My daughter did the same thing in December. I can only say stay strong, shed many tears and remember all of the good times. You have one of the greatest families here to help you thru this time. I know I can say contact any of us at any time and we will be there.

I am sure they are in a much better place with their demons gone and awaiting us when our time comes.

As a father myself, I can only offer you my deepest condolences. I have had family members and friends do "battle with their demons", some have won but some have lost.

Final services were this a.m. A full uniformed Marine detail conducted the graveside service. A 21 gun salute was fired by the V.F.W. honor team. The marine E - 5 that presented the flag to me resembled my son, at least in my old eyes, that I called him "son". My son made E - 5 Sargent during his service time. There are over 50 notations on his facebook page from other Marines that served with him in different postings around the world. I want to thank all the site readers for their comments, PM`s, phone calls and all the wishes of a great group of people. Thank You.Robert
