I have seen bullets swaged from Remington 458 405 gr soft nose used in 454 casull. I would like to try some in a 45 Colt rifle.

I am an uber noob on swaging. What would I need to make these?

Help greatly appreciated

You want to make them smaller, right? You have to "draw" them not "swage." You can have draw dies custom made by CH4d for making bullets smaller in diameter.

Actually, all you need is the Lee push through .454 size die. Depending on the amount of "spring back" you might need the .452. Use a heavy duty lube like soft beeswax and push them through; perhaps twice. I have done it and it works fine. Just be careful with your load development.

I have some .512 DIA Barnes jacketed rifle bullets that I wanted to use for my .500 DIA 500 Handi rifle so I put a bit of Lanolin on them and ran them through a .500 push through sizer die . Worked great .

I would expect those bullets to not expand at the lower velocity of the 45 Colt even in a rifle is that OK for your use?

would be the same as a 45cal hardcast boolit.... acts as a solid....
